Yvonne's '60 Letter, Waterloo

Waterloo, December 19, 1960

Dear Ermilienne,
Dear Arthur,

I received your leiter the morning of Saturday the 17th. You :can't know how grateful we were to receive your news and to hear you are all in good health. I went shoppmg Saturday morning in Brussels and when I returned at 2 o'clock, Maurice handed me the letter I'd been awaiting. I was very happy to receive the photos of your beautiful family. The Andris family just refuses to go away [revise]. It's quite different with myself and Octave. It is still sad to be childless, which is our purpose in life. Healthwise, we are all doing fIne, nothing serious except on May 15 when I fell on the steps in my kitchen (5 centimeters). I broke my ankle (foot) and wore a cast for 6 weeks. All is fine now. Octave too. Maurice still suffers from his rhumatism though. For now he receives shots. During the summer it's much better but the winter is hard. Regarding Robert's family, it's saddening that mother is no longer with us. She too loved to see photos from America. Tell Robert when you write him that if he sent one of the boys over that he would be welcome here. That's all the news I have for now. I haven't been back to Binche for about a month now. I go often to town to visit mother's grave and pick up the rent. I hope you enJoy my letter. Send my love to Dorothy and Aime' and to Robert ,Emily and the children.

Warmest regards,

Your cousins, Octave and Yvonne
Maurice

Best Wishes and Happy New Year.
Yvonne
