Julia Meunier

Julia Bourmourck Staats lives in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with her husband Percy Staats. She has provided me with invaluable information about the first marriage of Victorine Dorval to Jules Meunier. Specifically I have information on the pedigree of Julia Munier, information on the parents and siblings of Alfred Bourmourck, who married Julia Meunier, and some information about the descendants of Alfred and Julia. Mrs. Staats also provided numerous clippings from the Marietta Times and Parkersburg News on the obituaries of the Andris family.

The Pedigree of Julia Meunier

Children of Julia Meunier and Alfred Clement Bourmourck

Julia Meunier was the only child of Jules Meunier and Victorine Dorval. She was my father's half sister. She married Alfred Clement Bourmourck, born in Arnold, Pennsylvania on 3/18/95. She died on 7/22/1978 in Jacksonville Florida, and Alfred died on 2/18/1987 in Jacksonville, Florida. They are buried in Oak Lawn cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida, along with their son, Jules.

They had five children. Three of these children, Alfreda, Julia, and Jules, lived to adulthood. Julia and Jules were twins. Jules was born in Salem, West Virginia on 8/26/1922 and died in Tampa, Florida on 12/18/1988. According to Ms. Staats, they also had twin girls, Rose and Violet, who were premature births. They were born after the birth of Alfreda, but before the birth of Julia and Jules. They died and were buried in Salem, West Virginia.

The Parents and Siblings of Alfred Bourmourck

I cannot be sure that I have read the town "Lodelinsart" accurately, even though it appears (in French script) several times on the document I received from Julia Staats. There is also other information about the children of Jean-Baptiste and Constance that I cannot translate or decipher.

Jean-Baptiste Bourmorck, born at Baisy on 6/21/1833, died at Lodelinsart on 11/30/1902
Constance Alexandre, born at Chartres-Villeroux on 2/11/1836, died at Lodelinsart on 8/16/1906
Jean-Baptiste and Constance were married on 5/23/1861 and emigrated to America on 8/17/1884

Their children, all born at Lodelinsart were:
  • Clara Marie Bourmorck, born on 7/2/1859
  • Jean-Baptiste Bourmorck, born on 3/7/1863
  • Dèsiré Bourmorck, born on 3/30/1867. Came to US as a single man, married Maria Guilliam
  • Julia Bourmorck, born on 4/18/1869
  • Alice Bourmorck, born on 9/17/1871
  • Ernestine Bourmorck, born on 10/26/1874
  • Alfred Joseph Bourmorck, born on 6/23/1877
