KINDERMUSIK CLASSES AVAILABLE THIS FALL 2008!

 

Are you familiar with Kindermusik?  If not, Kindermusik is a music and movement program for children ages birth through seven years old.  More specifically, Kindermusik classes provide a holistic musical and learning experience in the critical first years of young children and their families.  This developmental program, guided by a proven methodology combining music and childhood development, provides opportunities to foster child-parent relationships and gain a lifelong love of music and learning.  This program is great preparation for future Suzuki students as well!  It is taught by a trained and licensed Kindermusik educator.

 

SIUE presents “Kindermusik with Ellen Singh” which provides you with this program! 

 

Kindermusik “Village” Classes (birth to 1/1/2 Years) (8 weeks) AND “Our Time” Classes (1 ½ thru 3Years) (10 weeks) will be offered this Fall 2008!  Classes will be held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. 

 

Please note that class registrations are due by September 1. Saturday classes start September 6 and Wednesday classes start September10.

Ellen Singh, Kindersmusik

Ellen Singh has had a lifelong joy and experience with music and young children. She is a licensed Kindermusik instructor. A graduate of both the University of Evansville (B.S. in Sociology and Interpersonal Communications) and the University of Illinois (Master's Degree in Social Work), she has a broad spectrum of educational and clinical experiences including child development, group dynamics, and relationship building which are essential in teaching music to children and their families. Musically, she has her foundations in many years of piano and flute lessons as well as having taught herself to play electric bass guitar. She has performed in various groups throughout high school and college. Additionally, she has enjoyed the opportunities of performing (flute) in her church and in various community orchestras throughout the country. As a licensed Kindermusik instructor, Ellen brings the love of music, movement, and learning to children and families in this community, in partnership with the SIUE Suzuki program, in her Kindermusik classes. She also teaches one of the Suzuki Program Pre-Reading Music Theory classes. Her greatest love is being a mother of three young children, all of whom are in the SIUE Suzuki Program.
