SIUE Tour Group

SIUE Tour Group

 

A violins only ensemble which performs original works from a variety of periods and styles.

 

Emphasis will be on increasing ensemble skills and improving intonation.

 

Eligibility

Violin students playing level equal to Suzuki Book 5 or above

 

Students MUST be enrolled with a private teacher from the SIUE Suzuki Program to be eligible for this group.

 

 

Auditions ARE required for this group

Audition pieces must be memorized

 

Book 5 Students: Gavotte by Bach

Book 6 Students: Allegro by Fiocco

 

When does Tour Group start? When does it meet?

You should be preparing and memorizing your music over the summer.

The first meeting of Tour Group will be in late August.

Meetings will be in Founders Hall SIUE campus

 

Time: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

 

Calendar: Follow the SIUE Saturday class schedule.

IF extra rehearsals are needed, you will be notified well in advance.

 

Cost: $200 per year for students NOT enrolled in the SIUE String Program

$20 non-refundable registration fee

(checks payable to: SIUE)

 

FREE for students enrolled in the SIUE Suzuki Program.
