About My Instrument

I’m buying such a small violin for a small child—does the quality really matter? Should I rent or buy?

Yes, Yes, Yes! The quality DOES matter and it IS possible to get a good quality violin for a decent price. Especially if you rent. Most stores will give you about what you put into a violin, and allow you to trade as your child grows. You won’t have to sell it if you have bought it already. Don’t buy one on ebay, and don’t purchase the instrument until your teacher sees it.

Where can I sell my child’s outgrown instrument?

Some local shops will do a trade in—namely Bearden’s or St. Louis Strings. We have a board outside the Suzuki Office in Dunham Hall where we will list instruments to sell, too.
