Systems Design (IT510)
Instructional Systems design basically focuses on how systems engineering can be applied toward the design of effective instruction. Don't let a term like "systems engineering" intimidate you. A system can be quite simple, like a systematic approach to cleaning your house. But systems can be quite cumbersome and bureaucratic, like the system behind the process of a bill becoming a law.
This course is largely taught online. You will create a final project based on the Morrison, Ross, and Kemp model of instructional design. This model, in my view, is superior to most others because it is based on heuristical guidelines, not hard and fast rules. You will be exposed to other instructional design models, as well.
