Major Principles of
Instructional Technology
(IT500)

I last taught this course in the Summer of 2005.  You can check out the Course Syllabus and a Design Project Overview from that semester.  More recently, Dr. Melissa Thomeczek has been teaching this course.

The course is designed to introduce you to the field of Instructional Technology, broadly construed.  You will begin to see how technology, media, design, and learning all "fit together," which will allow you to create something meaningful and useful to your audience, whether K-12 students, corporate trainees, customers, or any other stakeholder that you may be trying to reach.  This course is a theory course, so there's lots of reading and writing.  Much of this writing may be informal, in the form of journals.  You also, though, will complete an applied design project.
