to my homepage here at SIUE. I’m very
fortunate in my life because I get paid to do the work that I love. I work with wonderful, intelligent, and
creative people. My institution respects
academic freedom and allows me to flourish in my work. At the end of the day, I get to make a
difference in the lives of people and in the region where we all live. What’s not to love about that? Here you will find information about me and
the work I do. The work of any professor

SIUE is a premier
metropolitan university. That means the
University is engaged in the world around it and making a difference at street
level. I take that very seriously. It’s the reason I choose to work here. I hope you will come to SIUE and explore all
that it has to offer. The campus is
beautiful. It has clean architecture and
thoughtful design (by world-renowned architect Gyo Obata). It is a great place to learn—whether formally
seeking a degree or informally satisfying curiosity. It is a place of creative energy. There is much to experience here, but the
energy goes far beyond the campus walls.
