Your master's program has some required components, and some electives.  You need to discuss your individual goals and needs with me as your advisor and together we will determine which electives you will take.  However, below are some general guidelines.   You are reminded, however, that these are only guidelines, and accurate information is contained in the catalogue.

If you are doing the GENERAL ELEMENTARY track of the Master of Science in Elementary Education, then your courses may look like this:

GENERAL- PROFESSIONAL CORE (required classes) 9 semester hours
Ed        501 Research Methods in Education 3 hrs.
Ed        515 Advanced Educational Psychology 3 hrs.

Social Foundations

     a. Philosophical-historical

OR

     b. Socio-cultural

3 hrs.
SPECIALIZED-PROFESSIONAL CORE (required classes) 6 sem. hrs.
CI       561 Elementary Curriculum 3 hrs.
CI       510 Analysis of Instruction 3 hrs.
CI       596 Field Study 3 hrs.
ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL ELECTIVES 18 sem. hrs.
  6 Elective classes. To be discussed and agreed by your advisor. 3 hrs. x 6
  Typically, one elective from each curriculum area (Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Reading) is taken.
