Kate B Phoenix is an actor, theatre deviser, mask maker, and co-artistic director of physical theatre ensemble WONDERHEADS. Most recently, Kate has been busy touring her company’s work Grim and Fischer: a deathly comedy in full-face mask throughout North America. As an actor she has also worked with such companies as Theatre SKAM, creating interactive and site-specific work in BC, Canada; Furano Natural Studio as part of a national tour of Japan; Dell'Arte Company of Blue Lake, California; and most recently, Miracle Theatre of Portland. She holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Victoria and is a graduate of Dell'Arte International’s MFA program in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre. Kate is also a professional mask maker. She’s been making faces all her life, and studied at Dell’Arte International as well as with mask company Familie Flöz of Berlin. She creates masks for her own work as well as for other companies and schools around the world. Kate is originally from Vancouver, BC and now lives in Portland, OR.
Andrew Phoenix is an actor, director, teacher, devisor and co-artistic director of WONDERHEADS. He holds a BFA in Theatre/Acting from Texas State University and an MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from Dell'Arte International. In addition to acting in and directing numerous works, Andrew performed and taught in India with Clowns without Borders, U.S.A.; directed and taught at Intiman Theatre in Seattle, Dallas Children's Theatre in Texas, and Appel Farm Arts and Music Center in New Jersey. Andrew has also performed with the Texas Shakespeare Festival and the Dell'Arte Company. He is the co-founding artistic director of the new physical theatre ensemble WONDERHEADS, which has been busy touring its first new work, Grim & Fischer: a deathly comedy in full-face mask throughout the US and Canada. Andrew originally hails from Texas and now lives in Portland, OR.
