Luis Tentindo is a Brooklyn-based puppeteer/multi-media artist. He creates unique puppet/object theater works as well as exhibitions/installations based on his theater pieces. From 1994 to 2008 he danced in several New York-based contemporary dance companies, touring and teaching nationally and internationally. He now focuses on creating his own work and on collaborations. His evening-length piece The Mud Angels premiered at Theater for the New City as part of the Voice for Vision Puppetry Festival in December 2009. As a dancer, he was a member of the Doug Elkins Dance Company, the Janis Brenner Dance Company, Anna Sokolow’s Player’s Project, Nikki Rodriguez/Dance Compass, David Gordon’s Pick Up Performance Company, Tere O’Connor, Donna Uchizono, and many others. Luis’ work has been seen in NYC, Montreal, Cologne, Los Angeles, and Vermont. He also performed with the White Oak Dance Company’s pastForward at BAM (ensemble). Luis has taught workshops and master classes throughout the US and in Taiwan.
