WSIE employs students enrolled at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Students must be enrolled in at least 2 classes (six credit hours) per semester to be eligible for employment (including summer sessions). Students must also maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher for employment eligibilty. Applicants are not required to enroll in Mass Communications courses and no previous radio experiense is required (although recommended and often helpful). Students are employed as jazz DJ's, news reporters/announcers, sports reporters, front office assistants, development/production, and engineering assistants.
