During the program you will be receive nutritional education, information on behavioral changes, guidelines for physical activity that will motivate you to succeed.
All potential participants will first attend an intake meeting where specific details and costs are explained.
Upon qualifying, but prior to the first group meeting, each participant will engage in a full health evaluation. Here the participants will have their body composition measured, blood work done, as well as a detailed nutritional analysis. Most testing is done in our center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
At your first group meeting you will be given a binder including outlines of topics to be discussed as well as packets of information. This binder will become an excellent resource for you which will include a variety of health related information.
This program requires regular commitment to our weekly meetings along with our physical activity programs. The meetings will take place at the same place and time each week and will last approximately 1 hour. You will be meeting with the same group every week which will allow a support system to grow within the group.
Remember, changing your lifestyle is not easy. Be a positive and supporting group member. Everyone will be going through different obstacles as we are all different. It is important to be a reliable support system for your fellow peers.
Confidentiality is very important in this program. Very personal topics may be discussed in group, so we ask you please make your fellow group members feel comfortable by keeping our discussions private.
