Message from the URCA Coordinator

Welcome to the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) website! SIUE has much to be proud of when it comes to our unique and innovative URCA program. Unlike many universities, we allow students from all of our disciplines, including the Arts and Humanities, to participate, and we also offer two levels of student participation through the Associate and Assistant options. URCA students gain priceless experience in the lab, field, or studio doing what professionals in their chosen fields do, develop meaningful relationships with their faculty mentors, and get to expand their curriculum by applying what they've learned in the classroom to real world settings. Additionally, each semester many of our students earn course credit and/or a stipend for their participation.

Please take a few moments explore our website to learn more about these programs, including who is eligible and how to apply. Please also enjoy samples of the work our amazing students have done in the past. If you have any questions or comments, I'd love to hear from you! Feel free to e-mail me at
