The Faculty Development Council of Faculty Senate Presents:

Teaching Talks: “Shifting Pedagogy Toward the New Reality”

February 21, 2014 9:00AM – 12:30PM
Dunham Hall Theatre

The changing landscape of higher education in recent years presents many challenges for teaching and learning at SIUE. How might the impact of these challenges affect what we do and how we do it? What issues are faculty and students facing as they adjust to these realities?

Faculty members who have participated in discussions related to these and other questions have some ideas to share. There are alternative approaches to teaching that may better meet the demands of today’s higher education climate. The purpose of “Teaching Talks” is to disseminate and discuss these ideas.

We hope you can join us for some or all of these talks. If not, you will have the opportunity to view the talks at a later time and participate in online discussions of the issues surrounding our current challenges. If you have any questions, contact Faith Liebl (, chair of the Faculty Development Council.
