Job Description: The Assistant Community Director-Family Resource Center is a half-time, live-in position responsible for assisting the Community Director with management of Cougar Village Apartments. Responsibilities include: manage the Family Resource Center program, supervise the Family Resource Center staff  (hiring, training, evaluation, discipline, resolution of work concerns, termination); provide counseling and referral for residents; serving as a student conduct hearing officer; and contribute to all community development efforts. The Family Resource Center was established to assist the student families that reside in University Housing's Cougar Village. The Center offers a variety of programming for couples and parents and their children ranging from academic and social to creative and educational.

The Assistant Community Director shares on-call duty responsibilities for approximately 3,500 campus residents. For more information about University Housing, please visit their website at .

Qualifications Required: A bachelor's degree, driver's license, and admission to a SIUE graduate program are required. Candidates do not need to be accepted to a program before applying for this assistantship, but they must have already applied for admission to a graduate program. Preference will be given to first-year graduate students with previous university housing experience and who are enrolled in a Psychology, Social Work, Art Therapy, or Education graduate program.

Period of Appointment: 50%  appointment; 2014-2015 academic year contract with possibility of summer employment. Start date is July 21, 2014. Possibility of contract renewal based on positive performance.

Salary: $896 per month stipend, tuition waiver, 2-bedroom furnished/carpeted apartment, partial meal plan.
