In SIUE's early history, funding from the state and students' tuition and fees was enough to meet SIUE's needs. Now, given the current State of Illinois financial realities, support from the state is no longer adequate, and despite the rising tuition and fees, SIUE must rely on other sources of revenue to meet needs and to provide additional opportunities for students. For that reason, your gift and support is needed to not only help SIUE remain a premier metropolitan university but to reach the next level as a nationally recognized university.
Gifts given through the SIUE Foundation help meet the needs of the University and provide students with additional opportunities, whether the gift supports a scholarship, an academic unit, the library, faculty research and retention, athletics or student activities.
You can see first-hand the impact your gift has on the life of another. For example, in the Chancellor’s Scholarship Program as well as other scholarship programs, donors may meet the recipient of their scholarship and other students who are also in the program. There are other examples where such gifts have made a financial and cultural impact, such as the purchase of additional resources for the library, access to a wide variety of artwork that may be studied or viewed for pleasure, or upgrades that change "shoebox" classrooms into high-tech learning centers.
There are many reasons to give--and the options are limitless. Your gift will ensure SIUE’s place as a premier metropolitan university and enable it to become a nationally recognized university.
