Each gift given to the SIUE Foundation represents an opportunity that didn’t exist before, and through these new opportunities, each donor influences the future of SIUE.
More than 5,500 donors support SIUE by giving through the SIUE Foundation each year. Over the Foundation’s history, those closest to the University — SIUE’s alumni — constitute 63% to 71% of the annual donors. In addition, other community members — SIUE’s faculty, staff and retirees; businesses; corporations; foundations and organizations — support SIUE annually.
These donors influence the University by giving to their favorite areas of the University. Whether it’s creating a scholarship; giving to Lovejoy Library; sponsoring an Arts & Issues event; contributing to a School, College or department; or supporting their favorite Cougar Athletic team, donors provide additional and increasingly-needed resources.
In recognition of these donors, the SIUE Foundation acknowledges donors each year through the Chancellor’s Council and the Annual Roll of Donors. The impact these donors have at SIUE is told through the Foundation’s publication, The Annual Report on Giving. Through the Donor Stories link, donors share their thoughts about giving to SIUE.
In some areas, donors have joined together to encourage others to support the area and increase the funding available. These associated organizations, also called “Friends,” work to bring additional resources to several areas in the arts and in intercollegiate athletics.
