There is high demand for engineers due to global technological competition and energy and environmental issues that require engineering solutions. Since 1982, the SIUE School of Engineering has prepared students to meet the growing needs in our region and nation for more engineers, computer scientists and construction managers. Fueling the prosperity of our region, the School has graduated more than 4,500 engineering professionals. More than 60 percent of the graduates have taken positions in the St. Louis Metro area.
The School plays an important role in pursuit of the University's vision to be recognized nationally for the excellence of its programs and development of professional and community leaders.
