Position Title
Office Support Associate

Job Description/Responsibilities
The Office Support Associate serves as a member of the immediate staff for the Student Government office and the support staff of the Kimmel Leadership Center. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • maintaining calendars
  • scheduling meetings and making arrangements for meetings and travel
  • composing, editing and/or keyboarding documents
  • transcribing Students Senate and Finance Board minutes
  • assisting in fiscal matters, including completing AIS training in order to look up organization account balances
  • maintaining the management of files and other records systems
  • supervising and training a student secretary
  • maintaining and ordering supplies for Student Government office and designated student organizations
  • verifying enrollment, academic, and financial status of all candidates for annual SG election
  • maintaining employment data for student secretary, Executive Board, and other student workers
  • overseeing the production and disbursement of meeting packets for Senate and Finance Board meetings
  • maintaining records of all SG office and furniture keys
  • maintaining electronic access to office using CS Gold Card System
  • serve as a back-up staff member for the Kimmel front desk
  • complete student organization contracts for services for any groups receiving SG funding
  • order and purchase supplies requested by student organizations who receive SG funding
  • performing other duties as assigned 

Additional Knowledge and Skills Preferred

  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of university and KLC software programs, standard grammar and composition rules, rules relating to preparation of letters and reports, use and application of office machines, subject matter filing systems, telephone etiquette, and basic accounting
  • Ability to work with limited direct supervision 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school graduation or equivalent; and
  2. Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the following categories:
    (a) work experience performing routine clerical/office support work, including use of computer systems
    (b) vocational training that provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures
    (c) college or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration, Business Education, or closely related fields          
           30 semester hours = eighteen (18) months
    (d) college or university course work in any curriculum 
           48 semester hours = eighteen (18) months; and
  3. Ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 40 w.p.m.

$1,967 per month
