Job Description/Responsibilities
This is an administrative and technical support position assisting with all lighting and electrical systems operations, set-up, and maintenance of technical equipment within the Morris University Center.  This position assists with providing technical advice in the planning of events for prospective and current patrons.  S/he assists in the hiring, training, and supervisory responsibility of student technicians to meet needs of scheduled events.  The Multi Media Technician provides all necessary work involved in the conversion of facilities to meet specific needs of scheduled events.  These events include but are not limited to conferences, dances, films, lectures, theatrical performances, catered events, and meetings.  The Multi Media Technician is involved with work performance in the preparation, maintenance, and operation of all equipment and materials of concerts, state productions, or other special events. 

The Multi Media Technician may be assigned additional related duties and responsibilities in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling one (1) year (12 months), from the categories below:
a) training in technical school for electronics, armed services electronics training school, factory electronics and/or mechanical service school
b) college courses relating to the operation and use of instructional communications equipment or a closely related field

  • 30 semester hours equals 6 months
  • 60 semester hours equals 12 months

c) work experience in the operation and maintenance of instructional communications equipment

2. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to Level II of this series

Salary
$2,630 per month
