Position Title
Office Support Associate

Hiring Unit
Head Start, East St. Louis Center

Job Description/Responsibilities
This position performs clerical duties for the SIUE Head Start/Early Head Start central office and center staff members.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Recording and maintaining daily attendance records for all SIUE Head Start/Early Head Start staff members
• Reporting bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for all SIUE Head Start/Early Head Start staff members
• Supports designated program administrators
• Answers telephones and provides basic information to visitors/callers upon request
• Records minutes in meetings as assigned

The Office Support Associate position may be assigned additional related duties and responsibilities in support of the department's mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications
1. High school graduation or equivalent; and

2. Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the following categories:
(a) work experience performing routine clerical/office support work, including use of computer systems
(b) vocational training that provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures
(c) college or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration, Business Education,
or closely related fields
30 semester hours = eighteen (18) months
(d) college or university course work in any curriculum
48 semester hours = eighteen (18) months; and

3. Ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 40 w.p.m.

Additional Skills and Knowledge Required

• Experience and knowledge of Word and Excel programs
• Knowledge of standard office support procedures
• Ability to operate a variety of office equipment
• Ability to relate well to co-workers and outside community members

Illinois residency required

FLSA Status

$1,967 per month
