Dental Clinic Clerk II

Job Description/Responsibilities
This position requires an experienced Dental Assistant who can perform and is knowledgeable in patient-related support functions such as answering telephones; preparing, filing, maintaining and retrieving patient information to and from an electronic health record; and assisting the team leaders to ensure that patient care is being conducted in an effective and efficient manner at the School of Dental Medicine (Alton).  A large amount of time is spent working with electronic patient records, answering patient questions in person and on the telephone.  This person works in an office environment and is also utilized as a clinical Dental Assistant when needed, including chairside.  The clinical patients, staff, students, residents, fellows, and faculty all benefit from the effectiveness of this person.

Minimum Qualifications
1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. One year (12 months) of experience:
    a. comparable to that performed at the Dental Clinic Clerk I level of this series
                OR
    b. Certified Dental Assistant in a dental clinic facility, program, or in dentistry
        practice if required by employing institution.
3. Ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 30 w.p.m.

Starting Salary
$1,756 per month
