Periodically, Instructional Services Department may have various openings throughout the year for administrative call staff, non-bargaining, term positions to teach developmental courses to college students. These include reading, English, math, study skills, career planning and development. Additional duties of the Lecturer/Call Staff include tutoring individual and/or small group sessions with students; conferencing with students; attending unit staff meetings; observing office hours; preparing lessons and examinations; participating in curriculum development; evaluating student performance in class and assigning grades; participating in staff development activities; providing informal academic counseling, as appropriate, for students in enrolled courses; participating in community outreach activities, as appropriate (i.e. consulting, workshop presentations); tutoring nursing students; and performing other related duties as assigned by the unit director in support of the unit’s missions and goals.
Master’s degree in related subject area if preferred; Bachelor’s degree with appropriate experience will be considered. Interest and experience in working with educationally disadvantaged students would be beneficial. Good communication skills are required.
Terms of Appointment
Administrative staff, non-bargaining, term, beginning AY 2014-2015 & Summer 2015 with the possibility of renewal.
Source of Funds
Up to $2,956 per month. Salary range varies based on percentage of appointment.
