[IMAGE: ] Club Sports and Special Events Coordinator
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Recreational Programs, the Club Sports and Special Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive club sports program. Duties include day to day operations, administration, planning, development, and supervision of club sports programs. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: assisting with scheduling officials, and student personnel; assisting with student payroll, budget planning, policy development, and inventory/purchase equipment. The ideal candidate must be able to plan, supervise and administer special event activities for the entire campus. The Club Sports and Special Events Coordinator is also responsible for aiding the Assistant Director for Recreational Programs in other aspects of the total operation as deemed necessary. The Coordinator has responsibility for providing coordination, supervision, organization, and evaluation for all Club Sports programs, as well as leading outdoor special event trips and programming special events and may assist in other activities as needed. In addition, the Recreation Coordinator will serve as an adviser mentor for participants of our programs, as well as student employee staff. Lead effective group exercise according to safety standards set forth by ACE, ACSM, and AFAA. Instructors are responsible for teaching participants in their area of specialization, utilizing proper technique and safety measures. Instructors must enforce the policies and procedures of the Student Fitness Center, clean and store fitness equipment, submit participant information, and report, respond to, and record injuries. Seeking a certified yoga instructor to teach to a variety of fitness levels. Instructors have the ability to bring their own personality and preferred class style to our schedule. Our current classes have traditionally been vinyasa and restorative styles. Instructors are responsible for teaching participants, utilizing proper technique and safety measures with modifications available to help all levels feel welcome and engaged. It is the responsibility of the instructor to adhere and help others follow all policies and procedures of the Student Fitness Center, ensure the group fitness space is properly set up and picked up at the beginning and end of each class, record participation numbers, and respond to and report to injuries.
