Student Profile - Bryson Jackstadt

Bryson Jackstadt became interested in the MMR program while he was completing his undergraduate degree at SIUE. Wasting no time, he applied to the program, was accepted and began taking courses two weeks after graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a concentration in marketing.

When asked what drew him to the program, Jackstadt emphasized the importance of specialization. "This master's degree is a niche program," he said. "The profession of marketing is founded on research and numbers, and the MMR program focuses on these aspects. Having this background will definitely set me apart from my peers when I enter the work force."

In addition, Jackstadt was attracted to the small class sizes and the close interaction with the expert faculty. "SIUE is a big university, but the classes are more intimate," he said. "With low student-faculty ratios, students have the opportunity to create relationships with their professors. This interaction will help tremendously because the professors all have extensive industry experience."

Although Jackstadt is in the beginning stages of the MMR program, he is already seeing the value that it will bring to his future: "I have no doubt that the SIUE MMR program is going to help me in the long run. This program is going to provide me with invaluable experience."

Jackstadt expects to graduate in August 2013.
