The business administration degree program provides students with a basic understanding of the functional areas of business, the behavior of organizations and decision-making processes. These courses provide students with quantitative and analytical skills; an understanding of the economic, social, political and legal environments in which business decisions are made; knowledge of accounting and information systems; insights into organizational behavior, development, goal setting and management of human resources; an understanding of the ethical and global issues confronting business; and leadership and team-building skills through the student’s analysis of business cases and other experiential exercises.
Graduates of the program are qualified for careers in administration or management of business firms, in banking and insurance, and in federal, state and local government agencies as well as a variety of other settings where the knowledge of business functions is required. Students are strongly encouraged to obtain professional experience through co-operative education, internships and other co-curricular activities prior to graduation.
