Financial Aid and Tutiton Information

Tuition information can be found at the University link for tuition and fees. Graduate school can be financed with assistantships, fellowships and financial aid. Assistantships are available from the department and pay a monthly stipend plus a full tuition waver. These assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis to students interested in attending graduate school full time and in working for the department 20 hours a week. The work of a graduate assistantship in the department of Public administration involves tutoring students, working with faculty on research projects, and participating in public service activities.

Qualified students may also apply to the Graduate School for a Competitive Graduate Award fellowship which carries a stipend for the academic year and a full tuition waver. Students should apply for this award the year before they plan on attending Graduate School. There are a limited number of awards made across the entire campus. Students considering this award should have an exceptional grade point average.
Currently our program has four graduate students as graduate assistants. These individuals assist in the PAPA office, help fellow students or prospective students with questions regarding SIUE or the MPA program. These individuals also assist professors as needed and work on the department's newsletter, brochure, and plan department events. A graduate assistant can also be assigned to a particular professor to work on research or grant work.

There are several students working in internship positions. These positions are with the following agencies:
