SIUE proudly offers more than 450 scholarships to eligible students. View details about scholarships and awards offered by various schools, departments and units throughout SIUE as well as external opportunities.
SIUE is committed to supporting exceptional academic talent. For students receiving aid in 2015-16, the average financial aid received from all sources was $12,280.
Prospective Academic Student Scholarships are available only for students entering in the fall term. Out-of-state tuition scholarships (tuition awards) are available for all terms (fall, spring, and summer).

International Students are eligible
|Full tuition, fees, room and board as funding is available||Freshmen with a composite ACT ≥ 27 (1210 SAT) will be considered.|
|Cougar Pride Scholarship
|Up to $16,000 over 4 years as funding is available||Freshmen (with a composite ACT ≥ 23 and/or 1050 SAT) and transfers (3.0 gpa in at least 24 semester hours in transferable course work) will be considered.|
|Johnetta Haley Scholarship
|Up to $8,000 over 4 years as funding is available||Freshmen (with a composite ACT ≥ 23 and/or 1050 SAT) and transfers (3.0 gpa in at least 24 semester hours in transferable course work) will be considered. This scholarship is designed to support enrollment of students who are underrepresented in their anticipated field of study.|
Limited funding. Preferential consideration will be given to students completing the application for admission on or before 12/1/2015 and filing the FAFSA as soon as possible after 1/1/2016.
|Amounts will vary. After applicant’s completion FAFSA and application of all available state and federal programs to student’s account, SIUE will assist families with filling remaining unmet financial need.
Awards will be made as funding is available.
|Admitted Illinois freshmen with an ACT ≥ 19 (900 SAT), $0 Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and family income levels at or below federal poverty guidelines.|
|Out-of-State Opportunities (available for all terms – fall, spring and summer)|
|In-state tuition is available to residents of Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Children, grandchildren, siblings, step-children of SIUE alumni; students with an ACT score of 27 or above (SAT 1210-1240).|
|High Achiever Scholarship
||Eligible out-of-state freshmen and transfers receive the in-state tuition rate. The scholarship equates to an annual reduction in tuition of approximately $11,000 (based on 15 semester hours of credit) as funding is available.||First-time, full-time out-of-state freshmen with a composite ACT ≥ 27 (1210 SAT) or transfers with a 3.5 GPA in at least 24 hours of transferable course work|
|Geographic Enhancement Opportunity Scholarship (GEO)
International Students are eligible
|Freshmen and transfers meeting criteria are eligible for up to $9,400 (based on 15 semester hours of credit) as funding is available.||First-time, full-time admitted out-of-state freshmen (with a composite ACT score ≥ 23 and/or 1050 SAT), transfers (3.0 GPA in at least 24 hours of transferable coursework), international students (2.9 GPA and 79 TOEFL, or equivalent), or who have been recognized through a competitive departmental process.|
