As a diverse residential community, SIUE houses more than 3,500 students on campus. Our friendly, safe and modern residence halls are just the right place to begin your college experience. Residence hall living is the best way to become involved in campus activities, find support and meet lifelong friends.

First-Year Living Options

Freshmen live in suite-style units in Bluff Hall, Prairie Hall, or Woodland Hall. You will share a room with one other student; Four people share a bathroom. Deluxe private bedrooms may be requested and are available on a limited basis. You can choose a general room assignment or participate in one of our Focused Interest Communities (FIC), a rare opportunity to live with or near students who have similar areas of interest of study.

Uppperclass Living Options

Sophomores and above have two options for living on campus — Evergreen Hall and Cougar Village.

Evergreen Hall offers suite- and apartment-style living with the amenities of a residence hall. Living units are available in four different layouts, and most contain private bedrooms.

Cougar Village offers the advantages of living on campus with the freedom of apartment life, offering independent, traditional apartment living.

All our high-quality, welcoming residences are smoke-free and feature:

  • Air conditioning and fully furnished units
  • Wireless Internet access and data jacks
  • Expanded basic cable TV
  • Active telephone jack
  • Computer labs and laundry rooms (many open 24 hours)
  • Study and social lounge space
  • Cardio fitness rooms (varies by location)
  • Sand volleyball, tennis an basketball courts (varies by location)
  • Social and academic activities and special events
