SUAA/SIUE Chapter News

Many of you have likely seen the recent attempt by Governor Rauner to appeal to policy makers in Washington, D.C. to help address Illinois’ pension situation. While this initiative is not likely to succeed, it is a vivid reminder that we need to be vigilant and continue our advocacy through SUAA. With the imminent implementation of Tier III in the state pension systems, current and newly-hired employees face potential significant reductions in their future pension benefits.

SUAA is our advocate, providing the framework for a unified message dedicated to preserving and protecting a strong public pension system for current employees, retirees, their spouses and survivors.

If you are currently a member of SUAA, please know that we value your continued support and ask that you maintain your ongoing membership. If you have not joined us, we urge you to do so using the link provided here (insert link to membership information). SUAA’s ability to be our voice in Springfield depends on membership dues. Please contact me if you have questions, suggestions or concerns. We are here to serve you.

DISCOUNTED LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE PROGRAM FOR SUAA MEMBERS

3/24/16  The State Universities Annuitants Association (SUAA) strives to provide its membership with opportunities that will enhance their feeling of well-being and know that efforts have been made to protect family assets.

We don't often think about how we will be cared for during illness unless we have already had an experience with a loved one.  Nor do we consider the cost of the care that isn't provided by Medicare or supplemental health insurance.

Therefore, SUAA is aligned with TK Partners & Associates, Inc. to bring a discounted Long Term Care Insurance Program to you.  This discounted program is made available to all SUAA members and their family members who are under the age of 79.

There are several companies for you to select from.  To request information about a Long Term Care Insurance Program click here or call 1.866.813.5443.
