Walk-In study abroad advisement (limited to 20-minute sessions)
During spring 2013: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – 10 a.m. – 12 noon

Be sure to include your Student ID #, intended semester abroad, and program(s)/world regions of interest.
SIUE has direct relationships with the following institutions. Students pay tuition and housing costs directly to the host institution. In addition, SIUE bills the student’s SIUE account for $75 study abroad fee for the semester the student is abroad (students are not assessed SIUE tuition and regular student fees for the semester abroad). Some offer scholarships or other discounts to SIUE students. SIUE students must work through the SIUE Office of Study Abroad to obtain approval to study abroad and earn SIUE credit.


Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA) offers semester, year long and summer study abroad programs in Argentina, Australia, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, South Africa and Spain. CEA provides full service study abroad programs which offer excursions, cultural and immersion activities, housing, on-site staff for student to have a rewarding and exciting experience abroad.
Affiliate Travel Grants - CEA provides a $250 Travel Grant for each approved SIUE student enrolling in a semester long CEA program; a $100 Travel Grant is provided for each approved SIUE student enrolling in a summer CEA Program. These awards will be posted directly to the students' CEA billing accounts.
CEA offers other scholarship opportunities to students accepted to their programs.
Janaury 25, 2013 (2:00 - 3:00 PM) Study Abroad Informational Meeting focusing specifically on CEA Programs, locations, application procedures, and more. Meeting will be led by SIUE rep from CEA and the SIUE Study Abroad Coordinator. SIUE students who have studied abroad on CEA programs will be on hand at this meeting also.
AIFS - American Institute for Foreign Study offers a variety of programs at universities in Australia, Austria, Czech Rep., England, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Peru, Russia, South Africa, and Spain.
AustraLearn provides student with study abroad opportunities at more than 30 major universities in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. AsiaLearn offers programs in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand. No minimum foreign language required for most programs. Wide range of subjects taught in English. In-country cultural program & 24 - hour support.
Application Fee Waiver & Program Fee Discount for SIUE Students:
All SIUE students approved to study abroad through AustraLearn may receive a special code from the SIUE Office of Study Abroad that will waive the $30 AustraLearn application fee. Also, a $250 program fee discount will be given to students from affiliated universities (like SIUE) for 2010 semester long AustraLearn and AsiaLearn programs. This discount does not require any application. It will be granted automatically to all accepted students from affiliated universities. SIUE is an AustraLearn affiliated university.
