Cuernavaca is known throughout the world as the City of Eternal Spring due to its near-perfect climate and year-round supply of lush, vibrant flora. Located in central Mexico, it is a favorite vacation spot within close reach of other exciting cities such as Acapulco, Puebla, Taxco, and only 45 minutes south of Mexico City.
Founded in the 12th century, Cuernavaca’s rich historical and cultural heritage can be observed in archeological sites like the Teopanzolco pyramids, the Cathedral, and the Cuauhnáhuac Museum, which was formerly
the palace of Hernán Cortés, the Spanish conqueror. It is the capital of the state of Morelos, with a population of more than 1,500,000. The city has an almost perfect climate of warm spring-like weather all year round and beautiful flora and fauna.
The Monterrey Tech University System was founded in 1943 and comprises 33 campuses in Mexico. Founded in 1980, the Cuernavaca campus is young and inviting, with a semester enrollment of about 2000, including about 70 international exchange programs students. At the beginning of 2008 Campus Cuernavaca moved to a brand new facility. The new campus is equipped with modern classrooms and laboratories, a computer center, library, cafeteria, several stores, free medical assistance, and a a private shuttle bus to several locations around Cuernavaca. The campus offers a wide variety of student activities, workshops, extracurricular classes and sports facilities. The campus also has a Social Service Program, a multi-dimensional program of 25 on-going projects in local communities. International students are encouraged to participate in these valuable projects.
