ISIC - International Student Identity Card

The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) or a similar International Student Teacher Card (ITIC)  is the premier discount and identity document for students and teachers. More than 5 million students around the world will purchase an ISIC card this year. To qualify for your International Student ID card, you must be age 12 or older and currently enrolled as a full-time degree seeking student at an accredited institution. Continuing education and non-degree seeking students are not eligible. To qualify for the ITIC (teacher) card, you must be a teaching faculty (staff and spouses of faculty are not eligible).

SIUE recommends that all students studying abroad purchase the ISIC (International Student Identity Card) for the travel insurance provided with the card. The travel insurance provided to ISIC/ITIC cardholders includes coverage for emergency medical transportation, repatriation of remains, accident and sickness coverage, travel document protection, and more. It is important to note that the insurance included with the ISIC card is the minimum coverage recommended for traveling abroad. All travelers should consider purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance policy before embarking on any journey.

All SIUE students participating in a short-term SIUE Travel Study Program are REQUIRED to obtain the ISIC prior to departure.

Additional ISIC/ITIC cardholder benefits include: Special student rates on recognized major airlines through STA Travel (www.STAtravel.com), and discounts on accommodations, attractions, tours, museums and other services abroad. See www.myisic.com for details and to search for discounts worldwide.

How much does the ISIC/ITIC cost?    $22
