Measures of Success
With limited resources, SIUE has achieved tremendous success in educating growing numbers of students, expanding services to meet their needs and supporting their organizations.
Some of the services that are housed in the Student Success Center include:
- The Honors Program at SIUE, established in 2005, enhances the quality of the University by transcending the boundaries of the traditional curriculum and instruction to create a vibrant intellectual community for SIUE’s highest achieving students.
- SIUE’s Study Abroad Program extends learning far beyond the classroom. Opportunities to study, learn and conduct research in other nations deepen students’ understanding of the global economy and other cultures. The rapidly expanding program warrants its own physical space and administrative team.
- Most college and university campuses today offer students the services of a Wellness Center to promote good health through activities such as diet counseling, substance abuse education, yoga and meditation.
- The Kimmel Leadership Center is at the heart of student involvement, SIUE campus life and community service. Center staff members are the driving forces behind student organizations and a variety of leadership programs, which prepare students for success after college.
