Army Physical Fitness Test
The APFT is a three event physical performance test consisting of push-ups, sit-ups, and a two mile run. The APFT is based on a point scale, which is determined by the cadet's raw score in each event. If 100 points are scored in all three events, the extended scale can be used, allowing the final score to exceed 300. At SIUE, Army Physical Fitness Test's are typically given once a month to monitor the progress of each cadet. Physical Training is conducted Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday to maintain the physical strength and endurance of cadets. If needed, additional PT sessions are available on Tuesday and Friday. Cadets are also highly encouraged to work out on their own time.
