LTC Scott Reed

       LTC Reed was commissioned as an Infantry Officer on 24 May 1997 from the University of New Hampshire Reserve Officer Training Corps (UNH ROTC) program. His duty positions include: 1st Battalion (Mechanized Infantry), 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade (Blackjack), 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. While there, he served as a Bradley Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Battalion S4. After changing branches to Transportation --Commander HHD, 194th Maintenance Battalion, Republic of Korea;  Chief, Resource Management, Directorate of Logistics, Installation Management Command, Grafenwoehr, Germany; S1, 28th Transportation Battalion; and Commander, 69th Transportation Company; Adler 26, the Senior Maintenance Company Observer/Controller and Subject Matter Expert for CSS units that train on Combat Logistics Patrols at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC), Hohenfels, Germany; Commander, 950th Transportation Company at the port in Bremerhaven, Germany.  While assigned to NATO – positions include:  Executive Officer to the CJ3, ISAF and Chief, Support Operations of the Joint Logistics Group, Kabul, Afghanistan and Madrid, Spain. His last position was as the Brigade Executive Officer of 405th AFSB, Kaiserslautern, Germany.  New position as of 15 July 2015 is Professor of Military Science at the Southern University of Illinois Edwardsville.

       His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (with 5 device), NATO medal, the Parachutist Badge and the Combat Action Badge.

       LTC Reed has three combat tours in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) to Afghanistan and Operation Enduring Freedom; and one deployment to Bosnia as part of the Stabllization Forces (SFOR5).

       LTC Reed is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course (IOBC), Bradley Leader’s Course (BLC), Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course (CLC3), Combined Arms Services Staff School (CAS3), the Command and General Staff College (CGSC), the Joint Forces Staff College and the Airborne Course. His education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and minor in Justice Studies. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Diplomacy from Norwich University (2009).
