CCM Community

We at the Catholic Newman Student Union talk about our "Family", our Community.  You might ask, "Just exactly WHO belongs to the Newman Family?"

Students:
There are 3,000 plus Catholic students from all over the world, studying in every education program that SIUE offers.  Some are active members, participating in the liturgies, in a variety of weekly and monthly programs, Sunday evening meetings with FREE food, retreats, service projects, field trips and more.  Some only come to a weekend liturgy.

Morning Community:
Local residents in the Edwardsville area, as well as SIUE's faculty and staff members comprise the morning community.  These families include infants, adolescents, adults and retirees.  The presence of this community creates the "family" feeling here at the Religious Center.  This involvement from the community provides our students with a unique opportunity to work, play and pray with a diverse community that models parish life.

CNSU also raises money and awareness for various causes along with volunteering their time.  During the 2007 Lenten season  they raised $1000 for Heifer International!  This was used to purchase 1 heifer ($500), 1 water buffalo ($250), 1 llama ($150), honey bees ($30), 1 share of seedlings ($10), and a flock of hope-egg producers ($60).

Everyone is welcome at the Religious Center!
