Financial Clearance/Financial Aid Credits
Before we determine financial clearance, The Office of Financial Aid will credit awarded or accepted grants, loans, scholarships and waivers to your account. You are financially cleared and your classes will not be cancelled if any of the following occurs:
- The credited financial aid reduces your balance to zero.
- Your payment plus financial aid credit (actual or anticipated) reduces your balance to zero.
- The credited financial aid plus anticipated aid exceeds your charges due. You may check your status via CougarNet.
- Your payment covers the first installment plus any prior term debt.
Please note that cancellation may occur on the first bill due date each semester. Students who have not become financially cleared by the first bill due date may be administratively dropped from their classes. Please remember that while the University reserves the right to cancel students for non-payment, it is the student's responsibility to formally withdraw, within University deadlines, from classes he/she does not intend to complete to avoid financial obligation.
