School of Engineering Receives ABET Reaccreditation

The SIUE School of Engineering’s programs have received continued accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) through as far as 2021.

The rigorous process requires years of data collection and continuous improvement based on self-assessment. The School and each program do a comprehensive self-study, which is followed by a campus visit from a highly trained team of experts.

Cougar Literacy Clinic Benefits Area Students and Educators

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is home to the only certified Literacy Education Program in the region. The program offers teachers an opportunity to enhance their teaching abilities and achieve a specialized literacy certification.

School of Nursing Continues to Expand Community Partnerships

The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Nursing continues to create community partnerships in response to the demand for baccalaureate-prepared nurses. SIUE School of Nursing (SON) Assistant Dean Roberta Harrison has announced two new partnerships with Greenville College and Clay County Hospital.

Today, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville received the 2015 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. This is the second year that SIUE has won the distinction.

SIUE Boasts All-Time Record Student Enrollment

September 09, 2015

SIUE has exceeded its previous record student enrollment by a two percent increase over last year. The University registered an all-time high of 14,265 students for the fall 2015 semester. Overall enrollment leaped by 293 students.

Undergraduate registration is the highest it's ever been at 11,781, which is a three percent jump (360 students) from last fall, a five percent rise (552 students) from fall 2013 and eight percent growth (821 students) from more than a decade ago.

SIUE Rated a Top 10 Midwest Regional Public University by U.S. News

September 09, 2015

U.S. News & World Report ranks Southern Illinois University Edwardsville among the best Regional Universities Midwest for the 12th consecutive year and among the top 10 public universities in that category. The listing is in the magazine’s “Best Colleges of 2016” issue that was released today.
