Once you have been admitted, we will send you information about advisement and registration. You will meet with an academic adviser who will help you select courses that meet graduation requirements. You also will have the opportunity to get your student I.D., buy a parking permit, and take care of other business.
You may declare a major and/or minor during your advising appointment in the Office of Academic Counseling and Advising. Generally, you are eligible to declare immediately if all prerequisites are completed. If high school deficiencies have not been remedied or you need additional developmental courses, you may declare after those requirements are met. After declaring a major, you will be advised by your major department or school.
Because undergraduate SIUE students rent their basic textbooks, you will be able to pick up your books about one week before school starts.
It also is important that you provide SIUE with your immunization record. You will not be allowed to register for a subsequent term if this form is not on file.
Visit the TRANSFERmation page for details about transfer advisement and registration.
