SIUE Honors Scholars Program

Honors Scholars Program

With the help of distinguished faculty mentors, Honors Scholars can help design a curriculum to explore their intellectual interests. Classes are small and restricted to Scholars. Students can study one or two academic areas in depth, or a variety of courses outside their major. All Meridian Scholars are automatically admitted into the Honors Scholars Program.

New freshmen with high academic qualifications also are invited to become Honors Scholars. Selection is based on academic history and letters of recommendation. For details about the Honors Scholars program, click here.

“The Honors Scholars course allows me to meet people who have academic abilities similar to my own. I can voice my opinions in an open setting and debate/discuss them with others. The professors work hard to make this a fun and thought-provoking class.”

— P.J. Gustafson, Honors Scholar
