Currently the policy of the University with regard to expressions of sympathy is that they are handled centrally out of the Chancellor's office. Such expressions are made in the name of the University faculty and staff and are for flowers or charities designated by the family. On the occasion of the death or serious illness of a faculty or staff member or a death in the faculty or staff member's immediate family, such information should be communicated to the Chancellor's office. No other University funds should be used for this purpose. Any other expressions of sympathy should be handled on a personal basis.
