No graduate student may have a student work appointment for more than 20 hours per week, except during breaks in the academic calendar, when the maximum for those on hourly wages is extended to 40 hours per week.
Graduate assistants, teaching assistants, and research assistants on 50 percent FTE appointments may not be simultaneously employed as student workers. A student may petition the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research for an exception to this limitation.
Graduate assistants, teaching assistants, and research assistants on less than 50 percent FTE appointments may be simultaneously employed as a student worker on an hourly wage basis. Total hours of employment as an assistant and as a student worker may not exceed 20 per week.
