Officer responded to 408 for a fire alarm. Housing was notified. Officer entered the apartment when no one answered the door. Alarm was activated when the resident fell asleep with something in the oven. No fire, but a lot of smoke. Alarm would not reset because of the smoke. The Edwardsville Fire Department was dispatched to help evacuate the smoke from the building. The building was cleared by the FD and the alarm was successfully reset.
