The University Police will provide a personal escort service to those individuals who feel apprehensive about walking alone on campus. The police will escort you from one building to another on campus or to your vehicle in a campus parking lot. However, this escort service is not meant to be a primary means of transportation or a taxi service.
To obtain an escort, contact the University Police at extension 3324. The Telecommunicator will ask for your destination and a call-back number. This ensures that if an emergency arises, the Telecommunicator can call you back and advise you how long it may take for the escort to reach you. This service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Students are encouraged to walk in pairs and take advantage of the Madison County Transit Bi-State bus service. A bus schedule is available in the Cougar Village Commons Building. This bus service is free to students for on-campus transportation.
