On Friday, August 29, 2008, at approximately 12:18 am, University Police responded to a reported armed robbery. A female student advised that, after exiting her vehicle on the Woodland Hall parking lot, she was approached by a black male suspect who displayed a small handgun, demanded her purse, and pushed her to the ground. This suspect was described as a black male, 18-22 years of age, with short hair and a goatee. The victim surrendered her purse to the male suspect who then handed her purse to a second male suspect who had arrived at the scene. The second male suspect was described as a black male wearing a white shirt. The first suspect then kicked the victim several times after which both suspects fled south on foot. The University is committed to the safety and security of its community. The University Police Department will be taking any and all measures possible to insure the safety and security of the campus. These measures include increasing the number of officers on duty and providing additional police patrols.
