Crime Alerts

Security Alerts & Timely Warnings

Every business day, the University Police sends a news release to University News Services for the purpose of briefing the community about crime, arrests, and police services which occurred within the previous 24 hour period. A hard copy of this release is also available in the dispatch office with 24 hour a day access. As a result of this release, the Alestle usually prints crime and arrest information in the student newspaper each week. Through this campus effort and the local media, the University strives to have an informed public.

Notification about serious incidents, which may involve imminent danger, such as a threat to life or property, or any other type of incident which poses a serious degree of concern, is put out to the campus community in the form of a bulletin. Security Alert Bulletins are issued under the authority of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, and are usually distributed campus wide. They may be stylized as individual (hard copy) flyers and/or electronic mail.
