The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Pre-Pharmacy Association (PPA) has been organized to help pre-pharmacy students at SIUE. The Association serves as a resource for information about the policies and procedures for the School of Pharmacy. It also represents the interests of pre-pharmacy students to the University as a whole and to the School of Pharmacy in particular, and finally, the Association serves as a means of informal communication and social interaction among its members. Activities of the organization during the 2006-2007 academic year include: a collection of children’s toys for distribution through the Toys For Tots program, staffing of information tables at various University events, (e.g. Preview SIUE and Fall Visit Day), informational lectures by area pharmacists, and an interviewing skills workshop. As of March 2007, the PPA had approximately 70 members. Membership in the PPA is open to any currently enrolled SIUE student. If you are interested in joining, contact Connie Stamper-Carr, the Director of Student Services for the School of Pharmacy. You may contact her by phone at 618-650-5150 or by email at email@example.com.
