PGY-1 PHARMACY PRACTICE RESIDENCY (pdf)

Residency Special Features:
This is a one year residency program affiliated with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy designed to develop advanced skills in a wide variety of patient care areas.  Clinical rotations include: internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, administration, ambulatory care, family medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, and drug informatics.  The resident will participate in case presentations, journal clubs, community projects, staff education, and distribution through regular staffing of the inpatient pharmacy.  Completion of a major project is required and will be presented at the Great Lakes Residency Conference.  The program offers opportunities in teaching (clinical and didactic), research, scholarship, clinical practice, and service.  The experience will be customized to the interests of the resident.  Longitudinal experiences are available and encouraged.

Special Requirements for Acceptance: Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent experience, eligibility for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in Illinois completed application, curriculum vitae, letter of intent, three letters of reference, and transcripts.
